3.1 Deployment Request Process

All deployment requests must follow this standardized process to ensure proper coordination and documentation.

Step 1: Pre-Deployment Checklist Completion

Before contacting DevSecOps, development teams MUST complete the mandatory pre-deployment checklist (see section 3.1.2). Incomplete requests will be rejected and returned to the requesting team.

Step 2: Submit Deployment Request

Send deployment request email to: devsecops@bontonsoftwares.in

Email must include:
• Subject: [Project Name] - [Environment] - Deployment Request - [Date]
• Completed pre-deployment checklist
• Deployment request form (use template from Appendix)
• Application/service details
• Preferred deployment window
• Rollback plan
• Contact information for on-call support during deployment

Step 3: DevSecOps Review

DevSecOps team will review the request within the SLA timeframe (see Chapter 1):

• Verify all prerequisites are met
• Review code/configuration if required
• Check security and compliance requirements
• Validate infrastructure readiness
• Assess potential risks and dependencies

DevSecOps may request code/configuration changes. Development team MUST comply before deployment proceeds.

Step 4: Deployment Scheduling

Once approved:
• DevSecOps will confirm deployment window via email to devsecops@bontonsoftwares.in
• All stakeholders will be notified
• Change management tickets will be created
• Rollback procedures will be confirmed

Step 5: Deployment Execution

During deployment:
• DevSecOps executes the deployment
• Development team must be available for support
• Real-time communication via designated channel
• Continuous monitoring and health checks
• Immediate rollback if critical issues detected

Step 6: Post-Deployment Verification

• DevSecOps conducts health checks
• Development team performs smoke tests
• QA team validates functionality (if applicable)
• Monitoring dashboards reviewed
• Deployment status communicated to all stakeholders

Step 7: Documentation

DevSecOps will document:
• Deployment details and timestamp
• Any issues encountered and resolutions
• Post-deployment metrics
• Lessons learned

All documentation sent to devsecops@bontonsoftwares.in and archived.
